Description

Tired of heavy, high-calorie dips? This creamy cottage cheese dip is your answer. Packed with protein and bursting with fresh herb flavor, it’s a guilt-free snack or appetizer that’s ready in minutes. It’s the perfect, healthy way to use a tub of Aldi cottage cheese.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups Aldi Friendly Farms Cottage Cheese (2% or 4% work best for creaminess)
  • 2 tbsp fresh dill, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh chives, finely chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced (or 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper, freshly ground
  • Salt to taste (optional, as cottage cheese is already salty)
  • For Serving: Fresh vegetables (carrots, cucumbers, bell peppers), crackers, or pita chips.

Instructions

  1. In a blender or food processor, combine the Aldi cottage cheese and lemon juice. Blend on high for 30-60 seconds, scraping down the sides as needed, until the mixture is completely smooth and creamy.
  2. Transfer the whipped cottage cheese to a medium bowl. Add the minced garlic, chopped dill, chopped chives, and black pepper.
  3. Stir everything together until well combined. For the best flavor, cover and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  4. Taste the dip and add a small pinch of salt only if needed. Serve chilled with your favorite fresh vegetables, crackers, or chips.

Notes

Texture Tip: For the absolute creamiest dip, use the 4% milkfat cottage cheese. The 2% version also works wonderfully and results in a slightly lighter dip. Herb Substitution: If you don’t have fresh herbs, you can substitute with 1 teaspoon of dried dill and 1 teaspoon of dried chives. Let the dip sit in the fridge a bit longer to allow the dried herbs to rehydrate and release their flavor. Flavor Variations: Feel free to get creative! Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for heat, some everything bagel seasoning for a savory crunch, or a teaspoon of onion powder for more depth. Storage: Store the dip in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
