Description

Chewy and sweet brown sugar cinnamon cookies that are perfect for cozy gatherings and indulgent treats.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar (for icing, optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream together the softened butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add in the egg and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Gradually fold in the dry ingredients from the first bowl, stirring until just combined.
  6. Stir in the ground cinnamon.
  7. Scoop tablespoon-sized balls of dough onto the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
  8. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until lightly golden around the edges.
  9. Optional: Drizzle with powdered sugar icing before serving.

Notes

Cookies are best enjoyed warm. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to a week or freeze for up to three months.
