Description

A warm and comforting bowl of oatmeal with brown sugar and cinnamon, perfect for chilly mornings or busy days.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup old-fashioned oats
  • 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
  • 1/4 cup light brown sugar
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/8 tsp salt


Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan, combine all your ingredients: oats, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt.
  2. Place the saucepan over low to medium heat and stir frequently.
  3. Allow the oatmeal to cook for about 10-15 minutes or until the mixture has thickened and the oats have absorbed most of the liquid.
  4. Once cooked, remove from heat and spoon the oatmeal into a serving bowl.
  5. Serve it warm and add any favorite toppings you desire.

Notes

Store leftover oatmeal in an air-tight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Reheat with a splash of milk to loosen the consistency.
