Ingredients
- 1 cup old-fashioned oats
- 2 cups milk (dairy or plant-based)
- 1/4 cup light brown sugar
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/8 tsp salt
Instructions
- In a medium saucepan, combine all your ingredients: oats, milk, brown sugar, cinnamon, vanilla extract, and salt.
- Place the saucepan over low to medium heat and stir frequently.
- Allow the oatmeal to cook for about 10-15 minutes or until the mixture has thickened and the oats have absorbed most of the liquid.
- Once cooked, remove from heat and spoon the oatmeal into a serving bowl.
- Serve it warm and add any favorite toppings you desire.
Notes
Store leftover oatmeal in an air-tight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator. Reheat with a splash of milk to loosen the consistency.
