Description

A classic, easy-to-make casserole featuring green beans in a creamy mushroom sauce topped with crispy fried onions, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 cans french cut green beans
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 1/3 cups crispy fried onions
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the green beans, cream of mushroom soup, milk, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Stir in 2/3 cup of the crispy fried onions.
  4. Pour the mixture into a 1.5-quart casserole dish. Smooth the top.
  5. Bake for 30 minutes or until the casserole is hot and bubbling.
  6. Remove from the oven and sprinkle the remaining crispy fried onions on top.
  7. Return to the oven and bake for an additional 10 minutes until the onions are golden brown.
  8. Serve hot and enjoy your holiday tradition!

Notes

You can use low-sodium soup and adjust salt to your preference. For a dairy-free version, substitute the milk with unsweetened oat or soy milk and use a dairy-free cream-style mushroom soup alternative.
