An easy and delightful dessert combining caramel and apples, perfect for gatherings or cozy nights.
Ingredients
- 2 cans of apple pie filling
- 1 cup of caramel sauce
- 1 box of yellow cake mix
- 1/2 cup of butter, melted
- 1 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon (optional)
- Vanilla ice cream (for serving, optional)
Instructions
- In a crockpot, layer the apple pie filling at the bottom.
- Drizzle the caramel sauce over the apple filling.
- Sprinkle the dry yellow cake mix evenly over the apples and caramel.
- Pour the melted butter over the cake mix.
- If using, add the chopped nuts and sprinkle cinnamon on top.
- Cover and cook on low for 120-180 minutes or until the cake is cooked through.
- Serve warm, optionally topped with vanilla ice cream.
Notes
Store leftover cake in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3-4 days. It can be reheated in the microwave or a low oven.
