Description

A quick and indulgent cheesy omelette made with eggs and your choice of cheese, perfect for a speedy breakfast or light meal.

Ingredients

  • 2 eggs
  • 1/4 cup shredded cheese (cheddar, Swiss, Monterey Jack, or a blend)
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1 tablespoon butter

Instructions

  1. Crack both eggs into a bowl and whisk briskly until combined and frothy.
  2. Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat and add the butter, letting it melt and foam without browning.
  3. Pour the whisked eggs into the skillet and tilt the pan to cover the surface evenly.
  4. As the edges start to set, gently push them toward the center with a spatula to allow uncooked egg to flow to the edges.
  5. When the top is mostly set but still glossy, sprinkle the shredded cheese over one half of the omelette.
  6. Fold the other half over the cheese and cook for an additional 30-60 seconds until the cheese melts.
  7. Slide the omelette onto a plate, season with salt and pepper, and serve hot.

Notes

Add herbs, leftover vegetables, or ham for customization. Store any leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days.
