Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 tortillas (flour or corn)
  • 1 cup cheese (cheddar, Monterey Jack, or your choice)
  • 2 tbsp taco seasoning (homemade or store-bought)
  • Optional toppings: lettuce, tomato, sour cream, salsa, etc.


Instructions

  1. Cook the beef: In a skillet over medium heat, brown your ground beef until fully cooked. Drain excess fat if necessary, then mix in taco seasoning and a splash of water. Let it simmer for a few minutes to absorb the flavors.
  2. Prepare the tortillas: Lay out your tortillas on a flat surface. For quesadillas, sprinkle a generous amount of cheese on one side. For tacos, fold your tortillas in half or use pre-made taco shells.
  3. Assemble: Add a portion of the seasoned beef to the tortillas. For quesadillas, top with another layer of cheese, then fold over. For tacos, simply pack the beef into the shell.
  4. Cook: For quesadillas, heat a non-stick skillet over medium heat. Cook each side until golden brown and the cheese is melted, usually around 2-3 minutes per side. For tacos, warm them in the skillet briefly until heated through and slightly crispy.
  5. Serve: Remove from heat and let cool slightly before serving with your favorite toppings.
