Description

A cozy Christmas Chai Latte that blends rich spices and creamy goodness for the perfect holiday warm beverage.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups milk (or plant-based alternative)
  • 1 tablespoon black tea leaves (or 2 black tea bags)
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar (adjust to taste)
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cardamom
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • A pinch of ground black pepper
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon of the prepared spice mix (for whipped cream)


Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, mix together the cinnamon, cloves, ginger, cardamom, nutmeg, and black pepper. Reserve about 1/4 teaspoon of this spice mix for the whipped cream later.
  2. In a saucepan, combine the water, black tea leaves (or bags), brown sugar, and the remaining spice mix. Heat gently over medium heat until it just begins to simmer, stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce the heat to low and stir in the milk. Let it steep for approximately 5 minutes.
  4. Strain the chai into mugs to remove any tea leaves and spice sediments. Set aside while you prepare the whipped cream.
  5. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the heavy cream, honey, and the reserved spice mix until soft peaks form.
  6. Spoon or pipe the whipped cream over the chai latte, and sprinkle with cinnamon or nutmeg for an extra festive touch.

Notes

Use fresh spices for the best flavor. Adjust sweetness to your preferences and feel free to experiment with different milk alternatives.
