Description

Delicious tangy-sweet meatballs made with ground meat and a rich cranberry sauce, perfect for holiday gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef or turkey
  • 1/2 cup bread crumbs
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup cranberry sauce
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground meat, bread crumbs, chopped onion, milk, egg, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the mixture into small meatballs, around 1 inch in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the cranberry sauce, soy sauce, brown sugar, and red pepper flakes if using.
  5. Pour the cranberry sauce mixture over the meatballs, ensuring they are well coated.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, or until cooked through and golden brown.
  7. Remove from the oven and serve warm as an appetizer or main dish.

Notes

For extra tenderness, do not overmix the meat mixture. You can switch to plant-based options for a vegetarian version.
