Indulge in these classic chocolate chip cookies that are perfectly chewy, with crispy edges and gooey centers, making them perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed light-brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups semisweet and/or milk chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour and baking soda, then set it aside.
  3. In a large bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the butter and sugars on medium speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes.
  4. Add in the salt, vanilla, and eggs; mix thoroughly until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the flour mixture, mixing just until everything comes together smoothly.
  6. Gently stir in the chocolate chips.
  7. Using tablespoons, drop the dough onto baking sheets lined with parchment paper, leaving about 2 inches of space between each cookie.
  8. Bake until the cookies are golden brown, with set edges and soft centers, for around 10-12 minutes.
  9. Allow the cookies to cool on the baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring them to wire racks to cool completely.
