Description

A simple and quick bread made with just cottage cheese and self-rising flour, perfect for busy mornings or a quick snack.


Ingredients

  • 1½ cups self-rising flour
  • 1 cup cottage cheese
  • Optional: pinch of salt
  • Optional: 1 tablespoon melted butter (for brushing)


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper or lightly grease a small loaf pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the self-rising flour and cottage cheese, folding until a shaggy dough forms.
  3. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and shape into a round or press it into the loaf pan.
  4. Optionally, score a line across the top and brush with melted butter or olive oil.
  5. Bake for 30–40 minutes until golden and a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
  6. Cool for at least 15 minutes before slicing.

Notes

Don’t overmix the dough; this can make the crumb tough. Optional mix-ins include herbs, garlic, or cheese for added flavor.
