Description
A comforting dish of tender steak and creamy cheese tortellini enveloped in a rich garlic-infused sauce, perfect for busy weeknights or cozy dinner parties.
Ingredients
- 20 oz cheese tortellini
- 1 lb steak (sirloin or ribeye)
- Salt and black pepper
- Garlic powder
- Smoked paprika
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- 4 tbsp butter
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 1/4 cups parmesan, shredded or freshly grated
- Parsley, chopped (optional)
- Red pepper flakes (optional)
- Cracked black pepper (optional garnish)
Instructions
- Season the steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, and smoked paprika. Heat olive oil over medium-high heat in a large skillet. Sear the steak for 4-5 minutes on each side until it reaches your desired doneness. Remove from heat and let it rest before slicing.
- In a pot of boiling salted water, cook the tortellini according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In the same skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and sauté for about a minute until fragrant. Stir in the heavy cream and whole milk, bringing the mixture to a gentle simmer.
- Mix in the Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and fully combined.
- Add the cooked tortellini and sliced steak into the sauce. Toss until every piece is coated evenly. Adjust seasoning as desired, adding red pepper flakes for heat or more cheese for richness.
- Garnish with chopped parsley and additional cracked black pepper before serving.
Notes
For variations, substitute half-and-half for cream, add sautéed veggies, or use a different type of cheese.
