Description

Velvety and creamy garlic mashed potatoes that serve as a comforting side dish for any meal.


Ingredients

  • 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chives for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. In a large pan over medium heat, combine the cubed potatoes and minced garlic, adding enough water to cover the potatoes.
  2. Cook for about 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
  3. Drain excess water, leaving a small amount in the pot for moisture.
  4. Add the butter and heavy cream to the drained potatoes.
  5. Mash everything together until smooth and creamy.
  6. Season generously with salt and pepper to taste.
  7. If desired, garnish with chopped chives and serve warm.

Notes

For a lighter option, substitute olive oil for butter or use a splash of milk instead of heavy cream.
