Ingredients
- 2 pounds potatoes, peeled and cubed
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 cup heavy cream
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Chives for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- In a large pan over medium heat, combine the cubed potatoes and minced garlic, adding enough water to cover the potatoes.
- Cook for about 15-20 minutes until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork.
- Drain excess water, leaving a small amount in the pot for moisture.
- Add the butter and heavy cream to the drained potatoes.
- Mash everything together until smooth and creamy.
- Season generously with salt and pepper to taste.
- If desired, garnish with chopped chives and serve warm.

For a lighter option, substitute olive oil for butter or use a splash of milk instead of heavy cream.
