Crispy Air Fryer Chicken Parmesan

Description

A lighter, faster version of classic Chicken Parmesan made in the air fryer, delivering crispy texture and melty cheese in under 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs (Panko for extra crunch)
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray


Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 380°F (193°C).
  2. In a bowl, combine the breadcrumbs, grated Parmesan, garlic powder, Italian seasoning, salt, and pepper.
  3. Beat the egg in a separate bowl until smooth.
  4. Dip each chicken breast into the beaten egg, ensuring it’s fully coated.
  5. Press the chicken into the breadcrumb mixture so each piece is well coated on all sides.
  6. Lightly spray the air fryer basket with olive oil and place the breaded chicken breasts in a single layer.
  7. Spray the tops of the chicken lightly with olive oil.
  8. Air-fry for 10–12 minutes, flipping once halfway through.
  9. Spoon about 1/2 cup marinara over each breast and sprinkle with shredded mozzarella.
  10. Air-fry for another 2–3 minutes until the cheese melts and bubbles.
  11. Remove carefully and let rest for 2 minutes before serving.

Notes

Pound thicker breasts to an even thickness for even cooking. Use gluten-free breadcrumbs to make this gluten-free. Extra Parmesan folded into the breadcrumb mix boosts savory flavor.
