Description
A delightful dish that combines the sweetness of honey with the savory depth of soy sauce and garlic, perfect for a cozy weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs chicken thighs or breasts
- 1/2 cup honey
- 1/2 cup soy sauce
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 tablespoon water
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Green onions (for garnish)
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, combine honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
- Place the chicken in your crockpot and pour the honey garlic mixture over the top.
- Cook on low for 6-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours, until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
- If you’d like a thicker sauce, stir together the cornstarch and water in a small bowl, then mix it into the sauce in the crockpot. Cook for an additional 30 minutes.
- Serve the chicken over a bed of rice or noodles, garnished with freshly chopped green onions for a pop of color.
Notes
For more depth of flavor, marinate the chicken in the sauce for a couple of hours before cooking. Consider using low-sodium soy sauce for a healthier option.
