Description

A beloved Thanksgiving stuffing recipe with a comforting blend of flavors and textures, perfect for holiday feasts.

Ingredients

  • 10 cups sourdough or French bread, cubed
  • 1 large onion, finely diced
  • 2 cups celery, finely chopped (about 3-4 stalks)
  • 2 tbsp fresh sage, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp fresh thyme, finely chopped
  • 1 tbsp fresh rosemary, finely chopped
  • 4 cups low-sodium chicken or vegetable broth
  • ½ cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the diced onion and chopped celery, cooking until soft and fragrant, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed onion and celery, and fresh herbs. Toss gently to mix.
  4. Pour in the broth, mixing until the bread is moist but not soggy. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Transfer the stuffing mixture into a greased baking dish, spreading it evenly.
  6. Bake for about 30-40 minutes or until the top is golden brown and crispy.

Notes

You can prepare the stuffing a day in advance. Consider adding chopped apples or cranberries for a sweet twist.
