Description

A hassle-free, flavorful teriyaki chicken dish made in the Crockpot, perfect for busy weeknights and casual gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds chicken breasts
  • 1 cup teriyaki sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon ginger, minced
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Cooked rice or noodles for serving
  • Green onions or sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place the chicken breasts in the Crockpot.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the teriyaki sauce, honey, minced garlic, minced ginger, salt, and pepper until well combined.
  3. Pour the teriyaki mixture over the chicken in the Crockpot, ensuring it’s well coated.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 6-7 hours or on high for 3-4 hours until the chicken is thoroughly cooked.
  5. Remove the chicken from the Crockpot and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded chicken back into the sauce.
  6. Mix cornstarch with a little water to create a slurry, then add it to the sauce. Stir well.
  7. Cook for an additional 30 minutes on high until the sauce thickens.
  8. Serve the chicken over cooked rice or noodles, garnishing with green onions or sesame seeds if desired.

Notes

For best results, ensure chicken is of uniform thickness and consider marinating for added flavor. Adjust sweetness according to taste.
