Description

A comforting and satisfying homemade lasagna with layers of meat, cheese, and rich sauce.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground beef
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 can Tomatoes (crushed or diced)
  • 1 jar Marinara sauce
  • 12 Lasagna noodles
  • 1 cup Ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • Fresh basil or parsley
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, then add the ground beef. Cook until browned, ensuring to break it apart as it cooks.
  3. Season the meat with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Stir well.
  4. Next, add the canned tomatoes and marinara sauce. Allow the mixture to simmer for about 10 minutes.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix the ricotta cheese with the egg and chopped fresh basil or parsley.
  6. In a baking dish, spread a layer of the meat sauce. Add a layer of lasagna noodles, followed by a layer of the ricotta mixture, and sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.
  7. Repeat these layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with noodles topped with the remaining meat sauce.
  8. Finish it off with a generous sprinkling of Parmesan cheese.
  9. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
  10. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
  11. Let sit for about 10 minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

Feel free to mix and match ingredients, and let the lasagna rest after baking for better slicing.
