Ingredients
- 1 cup cilantro, fresh leaves
- 3 cloves garlic
- 1 jalapeño, seeds removed for milder heat
- 2 limes, juice of
- 1/2 red onion
- 2 (15 oz.) cans tomatoes, fire-roasted
- 1 pinch cayenne pepper
- 2 large pinches kosher salt
- 1 large pinch freshly cracked pepper
- 1/2 tsp cumin
Instructions
- Combine the cilantro, garlic, jalapeño, lime juice, red onion, fire-roasted tomatoes, cayenne pepper, kosher salt, pepper, and cumin in your blender.
- Blend until you reach your desired consistency—smooth or chunky, it’s your choice!
- Taste the salsa and adjust the seasoning as necessary; maybe a pinch more salt or a splash more lime for zing.
- Serve it up with crispy tortilla chips or use it as a zesty topping for tacos or grilled meats.
Notes
For added depth of flavor, char the jalapeño before blending. Fresh tomatoes can be used when in season for vibrant flavor.
