Description

A delightful autumn side dish combining fresh veggies and sweet-tart apples for a vibrant slaw.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups green cabbage, shredded
  • 1 cup red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 large apple, diced (sweet-tart variety like Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
  • 1/2 cup carrots, shredded
  • 1/4 cup red onion, thinly sliced
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon honey
  • Salt and pepper to taste


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the green cabbage, red cabbage, diced apple, shredded carrots, and red onion.
  2. In a separate small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, honey, salt, and pepper.
  3. Pour the dressing over the slaw mixture and toss until everything is well coated.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes before serving to allow the flavors to meld.

Notes

Feel free to experiment with different apples or nuts for added crunch. For a vegan option, use plant-based mayonnaise.
