French Onion Chicken Casserole

  • 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup shredded cheese (Swiss or mozzarella)
  • 1 cup French onion dip or caramelized onions
  • 1 cup crispy fried onions
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large mixing bowl, stir together the cream of mushroom soup, sour cream, cheese, and either French onion dip or caramelized onions until fully combined.
  3. Arrange the chicken breasts in a greased casserole dish. Sprinkle with salt and pepper to enhance the flavors.
  4. Pour the creamy mixture evenly over the chicken, ensuring it’s well-coated.
  5. Top with crispy fried onions for that irresistible crunch.
  6. Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25-30 minutes to lock in moisture.
  7. Remove the foil and continue baking for an additional 10-15 minutes, until the chicken is fully cooked and the top has turned a gorgeous golden brown.
