Ingredients
- 1 lb ground chicken
- 1 cup grated zucchini
- 1/2 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup chopped red onion
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 cup crumbled feta cheese (optional)
- 4 whole wheat burger buns
- Lettuce, tomato, and onion for topping
- Tzatziki sauce for serving
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine ground chicken, grated zucchini, chopped red bell pepper, chopped onion, minced garlic, oregano, salt, pepper, and feta cheese (if using). Mix until well combined.
- Form the mixture into burger patties, pressing them gently to ensure they hold together.
- Heat a grill or skillet over medium heat and cook the patties for about 5-6 minutes on each side until fully cooked through and nicely seared.
- While the patties are cooking, toast the burger buns on the grill or in a toaster until golden.
- Assemble the burgers by placing the cooked patties on the buns and adding lettuce, tomato, and onion as desired.
- Serve with homemade tzatziki sauce on the side for extra flavor!
Notes
For added flavor, marinate the chicken mixture for 30 minutes before grilling. Use a meat thermometer to ensure an internal temperature of 165°F.
