Ingredients

  • 1 lb Ground Chicken (93% lean)
  • 1/2 cup Feta Cheese (can substitute with goat cheese or omit for dairy-free)
  • 1 medium Onion (finely chopped)
  • 3 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Parsley (or dill)
  • 1 tsp Dried Oregano
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (freshly ground)
  • 1/4 tsp Red Pepper Flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Zest
  • 1 tbsp Lemon Juice
  • 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs (or almond flour for gluten-free)
  • 1 large Egg (for binding)
  • 1 cup Tzatziki Sauce (fresh or store-bought)
  • 2 cups Fresh Vegetables (lettuce, sliced tomatoes, cucumbers)
  • 4 pieces Buns or Pita (whole grain or gluten-free)


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, feta cheese, finely chopped onion, minced garlic, parsley, dried oregano, salt, pepper, red pepper flakes (if using), lemon zest, lemon juice, breadcrumbs, and egg. Mix gently until combined.
  2. Shape the mixture into burger patties (about 4 to 6 patties).
  3. Heat a skillet or grill over medium-high heat and lightly oil the surface. Cook the patties for 6-7 minutes on each side, or until cooked through (internal temperature 165°F).
  4. Let the patties rest for a minute, then assemble the burgers with buns or pitas, tzatziki sauce, and fresh vegetables. Enjoy!
