Ingredients

  • 2 3/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups white sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon almond extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon green food coloring
  • Red sprinkles for decoration


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and baking powder; set it aside.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine the melted butter and white sugar, mixing until smooth and creamy.
  4. Beat in the egg along with the vanilla and almond extracts.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until fully blended.
  6. Add the green food coloring and stir until the dough is a consistent hue.
  7. Use a spoon to drop dollops of dough onto your prepared baking sheets, and top each one with a single red sprinkle.
  8. Bake in the preheated oven for 8-10 minutes, or until the edges of the cookies are lightly golden.
  9. Allow them to cool on the sheets for a few minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Notes

To enhance flavor, refrigerate the dough for about an hour. Store in an airtight container for up to a week.
