Ingredients

  • 28 oz Fire-roasted canned tomatoes
  • 1/2 Medium white onion, diced
  • 2 Jalapeno peppers, chopped (seeds removed for less heat)
  • 2 Garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/3 cup Fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1 Lime, juiced
  • 1/2 tsp Chipotle chili powder
  • 1/2 tsp Granulated sugar
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Cumin

Instructions

  1. Start by combining the fire-roasted tomatoes, minced garlic, chopped jalapeno peppers, diced onion, fresh cilantro, lime juice, chipotle chili, sugar, salt, and cumin in a blender or food processor.
  2. Pulse the mixture until you achieve your desired consistency. Whether you like it chunky or smooth, it’s entirely up to you!
  3. Taste the salsa and if needed, adjust the seasoning to suit your palate.
  4. Serve your homemade salsa with warm tortilla chips or as a topping for tacos, burritos, or grilled meats.

Notes

For a restaurant-quality flair, consider roasting your jalapeno peppers over a flame before adding them to the salsa.
