Description
A quick and tasty stir-fry bowl featuring caramelized ground beef, tender broccoli, and a sticky-sweet honey garlic sauce served over steamed rice.
Ingredients
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 1 cup chopped white onion
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 3 cups broccoli florets, chopped
- 1 cup honey garlic sauce
- 4 cups cooked rice
- 1 tbsp olive oil
Instructions
- Heat a large frying pan over medium and add the olive oil.
- Add the minced garlic and chopped onion. Cook 1–2 minutes until the onion is translucent and the garlic smells fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and break it apart with your spatula. Cook 3–4 minutes until browned. Drain any excess fat from the pan.
- Stir in the broccoli. Cook 3–4 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp. If you prefer softer broccoli, cook an extra 1–2 minutes.
- Pour in the honey garlic sauce and stir so everything is evenly coated. Cook 1–2 minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
- Serve the beef and broccoli over the cooked rice, spooning extra sauce from the pan over the top.
Notes
Use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter bowl. If you don’t have pre-made honey garlic sauce, mix 1/3 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup honey, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, and 1 tsp cornstarch whisked with a little water.
