Description

A quick and tasty stir-fry bowl featuring caramelized ground beef, tender broccoli, and a sticky-sweet honey garlic sauce served over steamed rice.

Ingredients

  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup chopped white onion
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets, chopped
  • 1 cup honey garlic sauce
  • 4 cups cooked rice
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a large frying pan over medium and add the olive oil.
  2. Add the minced garlic and chopped onion. Cook 1–2 minutes until the onion is translucent and the garlic smells fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef and break it apart with your spatula. Cook 3–4 minutes until browned. Drain any excess fat from the pan.
  4. Stir in the broccoli. Cook 3–4 minutes until the broccoli is bright green and tender-crisp. If you prefer softer broccoli, cook an extra 1–2 minutes.
  5. Pour in the honey garlic sauce and stir so everything is evenly coated. Cook 1–2 minutes until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened.
  6. Serve the beef and broccoli over the cooked rice, spooning extra sauce from the pan over the top.

Notes

Use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter bowl. If you don’t have pre-made honey garlic sauce, mix 1/3 cup soy sauce, 1/4 cup honey, 1 tbsp rice vinegar, and 1 tsp cornstarch whisked with a little water.
