Ingredients
- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 Onion (yellow onion or shallots)
- 8 oz Mushrooms (crimini or button)
- 3 cloves Garlic
- 1 cup Beef Broth (or chicken broth)
- 1 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
- 2 tbsp Soy Sauce
- 1 tbsp Dijon Mustard
- 6 oz Swiss Cheese (or cheddar, mozzarella)
- 1 cup Sour Cream (or Greek yogurt)
- 4 pieces Hamburger Buns (gluten-free optional)
- 2 tbsp Olive Oil
- to taste Salt
- to taste Pepper
- 1 tbsp Fresh Parsley (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until fragrant and translucent.
- Add ground beef, breaking it up as it cooks, and cook until browned.
- Stir in the mushrooms and cook until soft.
- Mix in the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, soy sauce, and Dijon mustard. Season with salt and pepper.
- In a large bowl, combine the beef mixture with sour cream and half the Swiss cheese.
- Cut the hamburger buns into cubes and gently fold them into the mixture until evenly combined.
- Transfer everything into a greased casserole dish and top with the remaining Swiss cheese.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and enjoy!
Notes
For maximum flavor, season ground beef with smoked paprika or cayenne. Prepare ahead for convenience. Don’t hesitate to add extra cheese!
