Ingredients
- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 can (15 ounces) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
- 1 can (15 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 can (8 ounces) tomato sauce
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons chili powder
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large pot over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, cooking until soft and fragrant.
- Add the ground beef, browning it thoroughly.
- Stir in chili powder, cumin, salt, and pepper.
- Mix in kidney beans, diced tomatoes, and tomato sauce.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat and let simmer for 30 minutes.
- Serve hot with toppings of your choice.
Notes
For added flavor, sauté spices in olive oil before adding the meat. Let the chili sit overnight to enhance flavors.
