Description

A simple and delicious oven-baked chicken breast recipe that is juicy and flavorful, perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 2 pounds boneless, skinless chicken breast
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon light brown sugar
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground paprika
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon butter (diced)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a 9×13 inch casserole dish.
  2. Place the chicken breasts between two pieces of plastic wrap and pound them to an even thickness of about 0.5 to 0.75 inches.
  3. Rub olive oil over the chicken breasts to keep them moist during cooking.
  4. In a mixing bowl, blend together the brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Coat the chicken evenly with this seasoning mixture.
  5. Arrange the seasoned chicken in the prepared casserole dish, and top each breast with a small slice of butter.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 18-20 minutes, or until the chicken’s internal temperature reaches 165°F (75°C). For an extra touch, broil for an additional 1-3 minutes for a golden-brown finish.

Notes

Consider marinating the chicken for a few hours for deeper flavor. You can customize the seasonings to your taste.
