Ingredients
- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup molasses
- 1 large egg
Instructions
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
- In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the molasses and egg until well combined and smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced about 2 inches apart.
- Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also freeze them for up to three months.
