Description

Soft Gingerbread Cookies are a delightful treat that brings warmth and nostalgia to your holidays with their rich spice aroma and chewy texture.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup molasses
  • 1 large egg


Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, salt, ginger, cinnamon, and cloves.
  2. In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Beat in the molasses and egg until well combined and smooth.
  4. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring until just combined.
  5. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  6. Scoop spoonfuls of dough onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, spaced about 2 inches apart.
  7. Bake for 8-10 minutes, until the edges are set but the centers are still soft.
  8. Allow cookies to cool on the sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week. You can also freeze them for up to three months.
