Ingredients

- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup unsulfured molasses
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, ginger, cinnamon, cloves, and salt.
- Cream the softened butter with brown sugar until fluffy.
- Beat in the egg, followed by the molasses and vanilla extract.
- Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Drop heaping spoonfuls of dough onto parchment-lined baking sheets.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until the edges are set and the centers remain soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
