Description

A delightful twist on the classic banana bread, combining ripe bananas and rich chocolate chips for a moist and flavorful treat.

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
  • 1/4 cup (60mL) vegetable oil
  • 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs, at room temperature
  • 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups (360g) mashed ripe bananas (about 3-4 medium-sized bananas)
  • 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
  3. Add the mashed bananas to the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
  4. Gently fold in the dry mixture along with the chocolate chips. Be careful not to overmix!
  5. Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top evenly.
  6. Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  7. Cool the bread in the loaf pan until slightly warm, or transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. Can be frozen for up to three months.
