A delightful twist on the classic banana bread, combining ripe bananas and rich chocolate chips for a moist and flavorful treat.
Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups (180g) all-purpose flour, spooned and leveled
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (115g) unsalted butter, melted and cooled slightly
- 1/4 cup (60mL) vegetable oil
- 3/4 cup (150g) granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs, at room temperature
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (360g) mashed ripe bananas (about 3-4 medium-sized bananas)
- 1 cup (170g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a small bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
- In a large bowl, combine the melted butter, vegetable oil, granulated sugar, eggs, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well combined.
- Add the mashed bananas to the wet ingredients, mixing until just incorporated.
- Gently fold in the dry mixture along with the chocolate chips. Be careful not to overmix!
- Pour the batter into a greased loaf pan, smoothing the top evenly.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 50 to 60 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Cool the bread in the loaf pan until slightly warm, or transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
Store in an airtight container at room temperature for 3-4 days. Can be frozen for up to three months.
