Texas Roadhouse Chili

Description

A hearty and flavorful Texas Roadhouse-style chili that’s perfect for game nights and family gatherings.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained (optional)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (15 oz) diced tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp chili powder
  • 1 tsp cumin
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • Optional toppings: shredded cheese, sour cream, chopped green onions

Instructions

  1. In a large pot, brown the ground beef over medium heat, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain any excess fat.
  2. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic to the pot and cook until the onion becomes translucent and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes.
  3. Stir in the chili powder, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper, mixing them well with the meat and vegetables.
  4. Incorporate the diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, and beef broth, along with the kidney beans if using. Stir well.
  5. Bring the chili to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for at least 30 minutes.
  6. Serve the chili hot, adding your favorite toppings as desired.

Notes

For a vegetarian version, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or a plant-based meat alternative. You can enhance flavor by adding jalapeños, cayenne pepper, dark chocolate, or a splash of beer.
