Description
A comforting dish made with leftover turkey, ricotta, and mozzarella, stuffed in pasta shells and baked with marinara sauce.
Ingredients
- 12 large pasta shells
- 2 cups leftover turkey, shredded
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
- 1/2 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1 cup marinara sauce
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh parsley for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Cook the pasta shells according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine shredded turkey, ricotta, half of the mozzarella, Parmesan, Italian seasoning, and a pinch of salt and pepper. Mix well.
- Carefully fill each pasta shell with the turkey filling using a spoon.
- Spread half of the marinara sauce in the bottom of a baking dish.
- Arrange the filled shells in the dish, then pour the remaining marinara sauce over the top.
- Sprinkle the remaining mozzarella over the stuffed shells.
- Cover the dish with foil and bake for 25 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
- Garnish with fresh parsley before serving warm.
Notes
You can substitute different cheeses or use a vegetarian protein if needed. Allow to rest for 5 minutes before serving to enhance the flavors.
