Ingredients

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°F (93°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a clean, dry bowl, beat the egg whites with an electric mixer until soft peaks form.
  3. Gradually add sugar while continuing to beat, until the mixture is glossy and stiff peaks have formed.
  4. Add cream of tartar and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  5. Divide the meringue into two bowls. Add green food coloring to one bowl and mix thoroughly.
  6. Using a piping bag fitted with a star tip, pipe tree shapes onto the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Bake for 90 to 120 minutes until the meringues are dry and crisp.
  8. Let cool completely, then decorate with sprinkles or edible glitter before serving.
