A wonderful dessert celebrating the flavors of fall, featuring warm apples and a crunchy oat topping.
Ingredients
- 6 cups sliced apples (Granny Smith or Honeycrisp)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
- 1 cup oats
- 1 cup flour
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (melted)
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Slice the apples and toss them in a large bowl with brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Transfer this mixture to a greased baking dish.
- Prepare the topping by mixing oats, flour, brown sugar, melted butter, and salt in a separate bowl until crumbly.
- Sprinkle the topping evenly over the apples in the baking dish.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 45–50 minutes, or until the apples are bubbly and the top is golden brown.
Notes
Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream for a delightful contrast.
