Description
Creamy and buttery garlic mashed potatoes, a perfect comfort food for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 2 pounds of potatoes
- 4 cloves of garlic
- 1/2 cup of butter
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
- Chives (optional, for garnish)
Instructions
- Peel and chop the potatoes into even chunks.
- In a large pot, bring salted water to a rolling boil and add the potatoes along with the garlic cloves.
- Cook until the potatoes are tender, about 15-20 minutes.
- Drain the cooked potatoes and garlic thoroughly.
- Return the drained potatoes and garlic to the pot, then add the butter and heavy cream.
- Use a potato masher to blend everything together until smooth and creamy.
- Season generously with salt and pepper to taste.
- Serve warm, garnished with chopped chives if desired.
Notes
For a fluffier texture, use a ricer instead of a traditional masher. Roasting the garlic first can offer a sweeter flavor. You can experiment with different types of potatoes for variation.
