Ingredients
- 2 large eggs
- 2½ cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt (or sea salt)
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- ½ cup packed light brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 cups chocolate chips (mix of semisweet and dark)
- 14 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted and slightly cooled)
- Optional: Extra chocolate chips and flaky sea salt for topping
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, mix melted butter with granulated and brown sugars until smooth, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, folding until just combined.
- Cover the dough and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line baking sheets with parchment paper.
- Scoop and shape the dough onto the prepared sheets, leaving space between cookies.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes until edges are golden and centers look slightly underbaked.
- Cool on baking sheets for a few minutes, then transfer to wire racks to cool completely.
