Description

A creamy, cheesy comfort food that combines a secret blend of cheeses, perfect for family gatherings and weeknight meals.

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: breadcrumb topping for extra crunch

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and add the macaroni. Cook according to the package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. Melt the butter in the same pot over medium heat. Stir in the flour and whisk for about a minute to form a roux.
  3. Gradually pour in the milk while whisking continuously. Stir until the mixture thickens and bubbles gently.
  4. Remove the pot from heat and mix in the cheddar and mozzarella cheese until completely melted. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  5. Add the drained macaroni to the cheese sauce and stir until well coated.
  6. For a crunchy top, transfer to a baking dish, sprinkle breadcrumbs on top, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for about 15 minutes until golden brown.

Notes

Experiment with different cheese varieties for unique flavors. Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 days in the refrigerator or freeze for up to 2 months.
