Ingredients
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- Vegetable oil for frying
- Powdered sugar for dusting
Instructions
- In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
- In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until blended smoothly.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ones, stirring until a soft dough forms.
- In a deep fryer or heavy pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) for frying.
- Carefully drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Remove the beignets and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
- Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.
