Description

Light and airy vanilla-infused beignets, perfect for any occasion and irresistibly dusted with powdered sugar.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for dusting


Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.
  2. In another bowl, mix the milk, eggs, vanilla extract, and melted butter until blended smoothly.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ones, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  4. In a deep fryer or heavy pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C) for frying.
  5. Carefully drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil, frying for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  6. Remove the beignets and drain on paper towels to absorb excess oil.
  7. Dust generously with powdered sugar before serving.

Notes

Serve with coffee or hot chocolate for a café-style experience. Can be paired with fresh berries or even vanilla ice cream.
