Description

A comforting and rich Italian dish featuring rigatoni pasta coated in creamy sauce, savory sausage, and fresh spinach.


Ingredients

  • 15 oz Italian sausage
  • 4 cloves Garlic (minced)
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning or herbs de Provence
  • 5 oz fresh Spinach
  • 1 cup Chicken broth
  • 15 oz Tomato sauce
  • 8 oz Rigatoni
  • Red pepper flakes (to taste)
  • Salt (to taste)
  • Coarsely ground black pepper (to taste)
  • 1 tbsp Olive oil
  • 1 cup Heavy cream


Instructions

  1. Cook the rigatoni according to package instructions in a large pot of salted boiling water. Once cooked, drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until it’s nicely browned and cooked through.
  3. Next, add minced garlic and Italian seasoning, sautéing for about a minute until fragrant.
  4. Now, pour in the chicken broth and tomato sauce, stirring to ensure everything is well combined.
  5. Bring the mixture to a simmer, then stir in the heavy cream and fresh spinach. Cook until the spinach is wilted and the sauce is rich and creamy.
  6. Add the cooked rigatoni to the skillet, gently tossing to coat the pasta evenly with the creamy sauce.
  7. Finally, season with red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper to taste. Serve warm and enjoy!

Notes

For additional flavor, consider using high-quality Italian sausage and garnishing with freshly grated Parmesan cheese and parsley.
