Description

Delicious fish tacos paired with a refreshing cilantro lime slaw, perfect for gatherings or weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb white fish fillets (such as tilapia or cod)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 8 small corn or flour tortillas
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
  • 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Hot sauce (optional)

Instructions

  1. Mix the cumin, chili powder, salt, and pepper in a bowl. Rub this spice mixture evenly over the fish fillets.
  2. Heat olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Cook the fish for about 3-4 minutes on each side until cooked through and flaky.
  3. Combine the shredded cabbage, cilantro, red onion, lime juice, mayonnaise, and honey in another bowl to make the slaw. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Warm the tortillas in a pan or microwave until soft and pliable.
  5. Assemble the tacos by placing pieces of fish in the tortillas and generously topping with the cilantro lime slaw.
  6. Drizzle with hot sauce, if desired, and serve immediately for the freshest experience.

Notes

For extra flavor, consider marinating the fish for 15 minutes with the spice mixture before cooking.
