Soft and fluffy homemade burger buns that elevate your burger night, perfect for any occasion.
Ingredients
- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup warm water
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 large egg
- Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)
Instructions
- Mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl until combined.
- Combine the warm water, milk, melted butter, and egg in another bowl.
- Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until a dough begins to form.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.
- Punch down the dough to release the air and divide it into 10 equal pieces.
- Shape each piece into a ball and arrange them on a baking sheet.
- Cover the shaped buns and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- Brush the tops of the buns with an egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds over them if desired.
- Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown.
- Allow them to cool before slicing; they’re ready for your favorite burgers or sandwiches!
Notes
Experiment with different flavors and toppings! Whole wheat flour can be swapped for nuttier flavor.
