Description

Soft and fluffy homemade burger buns that elevate your burger night, perfect for any occasion.

Ingredients

  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) instant yeast
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup warm water
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 large egg
  • Sesame seeds (optional, for topping)

Instructions

  1. Mix the flour, sugar, yeast, and salt in a large bowl until combined.
  2. Combine the warm water, milk, melted butter, and egg in another bowl.
  3. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry mixture, stirring until a dough begins to form.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 10 minutes, until smooth and elastic.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it, and let it rise in a warm place for about an hour, or until it doubles in size.
  6. Punch down the dough to release the air and divide it into 10 equal pieces.
  7. Shape each piece into a ball and arrange them on a baking sheet.
  8. Cover the shaped buns and let them rise again for about 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  10. Brush the tops of the buns with an egg wash and sprinkle sesame seeds over them if desired.
  11. Bake for 15-20 minutes, or until the buns are golden brown.
  12. Allow them to cool before slicing; they’re ready for your favorite burgers or sandwiches!

Notes

Experiment with different flavors and toppings! Whole wheat flour can be swapped for nuttier flavor.
