Delicious bang bang shrimp tacos featuring crispy shrimp and zesty slaw, perfect for a casual weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp
  • 4 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1/4 cup chopped cilantro
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1/2 tsp lime zest
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/3 cup chili sauce
  • 1 tsp honey
  • 4 tsp lime juice
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp Sriracha
  • 5/16 cup avocado oil
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/3 cup cornstarch
  • 1/2 tsp paprika
  • 1 1/4 tsp salt
  • 8 corn tortillas
  • 3/4 cup buttermilk


Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine shrimp, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, and black pepper. Toss to coat the shrimp evenly.
  2. Heat avocado oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the shrimp and cook until pink and crispy, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. In another bowl, mix the mayonnaise, chili sauce, honey, Sriracha, lime juice, lime zest, and soy sauce to create the bang bang sauce.
  4. In a large bowl, toss the shredded cabbage with cilantro, green onions, and buttermilk to create the slaw.
  5. Heat the corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave until warm.
  6. Assemble the tacos by placing shrimp on the tortillas, topping with slaw, and drizzling with bang bang sauce.
  7. Serve immediately for the best experience.

Notes

Great with lime wedges and pickled jalapeños for extra heat.
