Ingredients
- Fresh fettuccine (or dried, if preferred)
- Unsalted butter
- Freshly grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Start by boiling a large pot of salted water. Cook your fettuccine according to the package instructions until it’s al dente.
- While the pasta is cooking, melt the butter in a large mixing bowl (it should be heatproof, as it will receive the hot pasta).
- Once the pasta is cooked, reserve a cup of the pasta cooking water, then drain the fettuccine.
- Immediately add the hot fettuccine to the bowl with the melted butter. Toss to combine.
- Gradually stir in the freshly grated Parmesan cheese while tossing the pasta. If it’s too thick, add a little reserved pasta cooking water to achieve your desired creamy consistency.
- Serve immediately, garnished with extra Parmesan if desired.
Notes
For a gluten-free option, substitute with gluten-free pasta while keeping the other ingredients the same.
